Going Back in Time...The week that was July 4th 2010

I have so much to look forward to this month and in the months to come. Birthdays, day trips, new school year for Bailey. Exciting times are ahead. So far it’s been a great summer, have had the opportunity to spend time with some of Heather’s family, and talk to others on the phone. Been spending as much time as I can with Heather and the kids even if just sitting at home or walking around the mall or a store. We had the best Independence Day weekend we have had in years thanks to Joey and Jennifer as well as my sister Karon along with Ryan and Shelley. It felt great to be included and we had a great time with all.

Work has been going well. New challenges most days which I love, there is absolutely nothing like problem solving to sharpen the mind. With so any changes to the systems we work within we are always on our toes. This month marks my twelfth year with the company. It seems like only yesterday I was a naive 21 year old being conned into donning a turkey suit (that’s a story and picture for thanksgiving folks **tease**). All I can say is thank the maker that the Geoffrey suit at TRU was to small for me back in the day.

I am feeling so good about things these days. Things seem to always pop up and tear my optimism down but I keep getting back up. I think that’s the best revenge and highly recommend it.

Well I hope you all have a good week in case I don’t write again till next week. This weekend will be busy with at least eight hours of driving for me and eight hours of napping for Heather ;).

Off to play new Maps on MW2. I leave you with this from Back to the Future (1985) which opened twenty five years ago tomorrow July 7.

“Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?”
