Compromise is a Must

In business and life compromise is a must even though you may not want to. You may know your way is the best or right way, and others may agree but you still have to give in just to move on to another issue and put the current project to rest. That is just a fact that is hard to handle on occasions. To quote The Gambler “You’ve got to know when to hold’em, know when to fold’em”. At times it seems I end up folding more than holding and that’s ok. It gets the point across and the job needed done at least done in some fashion. You have a job to do, something to say at least say or do it with passion. Some may mistake that passion for negativity or unfriendliness but I can assure that’s its not. Sometimes a job just has to get done and done correctly and quickly. That’s it. I was just thinking about this the last week or two when a person whose opinion I value greatly told me that I was not as scary as they thought. That actually made my week so thanks.
Any way….
I have had a great week since the last post. I was able to spend an entire day with my sweetpea. Even if mostly we were running errands but It was great to spend the day with just her. We did get to go have lunch with Heather and Big Time Diner which hit the spot (even if I dint get sweet tea). We had a chance to hit the book store and get some new books for us both and then off to see Despicable Me. Great movie, I did however fall asleep for a few minutes. Something about the slow middle section of an animated film just puts me out. Good thing my own snoring woke me up. When I did wake I had missed a few things. I found myself asking how that minion got into space. Bailey loved it and I loved hearing her laugh her ass off.
Heather and I then had a date night of sorts (odd that’s what it’s called when you have a night with no kids a date is when you’re trying to impress and we are so beyond that). Logan spent his first night away from us and it was a bit odd I must say. The house was so dark with no nightlights on. We had a good night out. Our first trip ever to Bed Bath and Beyond, I felt way out of place until I found the as seen on television section. Other than that section that place is way above me. Lots of cool stuff but I refuse to pay $30 for a scented candle. We enjoyed our dinner at Outback. Although to sit and watch as someone eats Snow Crab legs to me is not fun but I had other distractions such as facebook on the iPhone.
After just a few hours sleep it was up and on the road to PCB which neither of us has been to since before we were married. It has changed so much and we can’t wait to go back and take the kids with us. We had the best time with Heathers family. Had dinner at what was the biggest restaurant I have ever been to Captain Andersons which I highly recommend and will be going to next trip if possible. Best Gumbo this side of Nawlins and awesome stuffed shrimp. The past part was the company. The drive was long and we missed our kids but we had fun, and enjoyed just being together for the drive there and back.
The rest of the week has been all work and roses as usual. Hope you all had a good week doing whatever it is you do.

It's a funny world we live in. Speaking of which, do you know how I got these scars?
The Dark Knight (2008)

Off note but I thought you may like to hear a word or two from John Wayne on the hyphen.
